The Snow Bunting is the northernmost breeding passeriform in the world. It breeds in northern Norway and in the mountains far south in the country. This species is not classified as endangered in the Norwegian Red List (viable, LC).
It is found on migration at Lista, especially in March and November, but shows a decline for the last years in the number of observations.
