American golden plover The grey feathers under the wing are seen only in flight, and is a characteristic that distinguishes it from European golden plover and Grey plover. The legs extend only slightly from under the tail, whereas for the Pacific golden plover they extend much longer. This photo together with the other one is therefore sufficient as documentation for the discovery of this rare bird in Norway.

Very good bird in Våien
The American rarity landed in Våien toghether with a European Golden Plover like nothing had happened. Rarities like this is always good fun and people came from everywhere to see the bird. Good fun!
