The Red-backed Shrike breeds in most of Europe, to Western Siberia. In autumn, it migrates to eastern and southern Africa via Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean. In Norway, it has a southeastern distribution and occurs mainly from Eastern Norway to Agder and Rogaland.
