The Siskin is an irruptive and migratory bird. This species lives in flocks that stay together, but during the breeding season it thrives best alone. It lives in spruce or pine forests, and feeds on seeds. Many overwinter in Norway, but most of them migrate to the southwestern part of the Mediterranean.
