The Goldfinch is a partly resident and migratory bird, migrating many of them southwards in winter.
Since around 1950, it has increased in number and it now breeds annually around the Oslo Fjord, in Sørlandet and in Rogaland.
This species also shows a strong increasing trend in the bird station area. The figures below show updated data from the bird station:
