Pine Grosbeak
Konglebit (Pinicola enucleator)

The Pine Grosbeak is a migratory bird that in some autumns and winters appears invasively in large numbers from Russia and eastern Finnmark to southern Scandinavia. The large flocks can be triggered by an autumn with good seeding, which is followed by an autumn with poor seeding.

The winters in 1998 and 2019 were such years where large numbers of Pine Grosbeaks occurred in southern Norway and Lista. The figures below show updated data from the bird station:
